About NFL Football - San Francisco 49ers Tickets
Originally playing for the All-America Football Conference since 1946, the San Francisco 49ers has been a solid contender in the early years of the league. Although the Cleveland Browns have always snagged four championships, the 49ers always stood second place, with an outstanding 39-15-2 record throughout the league’s first four years of operation. In 1950, the 49ers moved to the NFL when the AAFC was dissolved. Throughout the 1950s, the San Francisco 49ers produced some of the best players the NFL has ever seen, including Frankie Albert, Y.A. Tittle, Bob St. Claire, Hugh McElhenny, John Henry Johnson, Joe Perry and Leo Nomellini. However, the closest the 49ers came to the Super Bowl was in 1957 when the team tied Detroit for the NFL Western Division title, but eventually lost in a playoff game.
In the early 1970s, the 49ers achieved a winning streak, winning three consecutive NFC Western Division titles in 1970, 1971 and 1972. However, the Dallas Cowboys always beat the 49ers every time. It was in 1977 that new owner Edward DeBartolo and new head coach Bill Walsh dedicated themselves to the 49ers’ success, eventually winning their first league championship in Super Bowl XVI, which led to a number of young superstars in the 1980s including Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Dwight Clark, Roger Craig and Ronnie Lott. After replacing head coach Walsh, George Seifert took advantage of the existing talent and led the San Francisco 49ers to Super Bowl XXIV and Super Bowl XXIX.
Although it has been five seasons since the San Francisco 49ers made a winning record, but it won’t be a surprise if the 49ers make it to the playoffs this year. With weapons like quarterback Alex Smith, tight end Vernon Davis and running back Frank Gore, the 49ers has a good chance of winning another Super Bowl. Can the 2008 season be another history-in-the-making from the 49ers? Find out for yourself; get your San Francisco 49ers tickets and watch them live at the Monster Park!
