The Masters 2009

The Masters Tournament is among the most prestigious men's professional golf tournaments in the world, the others including the U.S. Open, the Open Championship, and the PGA Championship. The distinct tradition of the Masters Tournament is the giving of the distinctive green jacket to the year's champion, which is to be returned to the new champion the following year. Another distinct feature of the Masters Tournament is that, unlike the other four major men's professional golf tournaments, it is held annually at the same location - the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

The Augusta National Golf Club officially opened in 1933, and was founded by Bobby Jones. The club is widely considered as one of the most popular and prestigious golf clubs in the United States, and probably the world. Golf enthusiasts may also be more familiar with this club more than any other clubs, especially those who are almost always in attendance during the Masters Tournament. The tournament has been hosted by the Augusta National Golf Club since it first started in 1934. Known for its picturesque beauty, the holes of the golf course are named after shrubs and trees.

Augusta, Georgia

Golf enthusiasts visiting the city for the annual Masters Tournament may have in one way or another experienced the unique hospitality of the residents of the Golden City. For one, it is widely known that residents near the Augusta National Golf Club have always been more than willing to temporarily pack up during the Masters Tournament and rent their homes for relatively cheap prices for golf enthusiasts who are looking for transient homes. Other relaxing spots for tourists are the Riverwalk Augusta, the Augusta Common, the Aqueduct Park, the Augusta Canal, the Diamond Lakes Regional Park, and the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Augusta is easily accessible through various routes which include U.S. highway 1, Interstate 20, and the Interstate 520 or Bobby Jones Expressway, which is named after Augusta National Golf Club founder Bobby Jones.

Bars and restaurants

Golf enthusiasts staying for the Masters Tournament and tourists alike have plenty of options for eating places to choose from, and so as to satisfy their diverse preferences. These include the Acropolis Pizza Restaurant, Amanda's Cafe & Grill, Bamboo Garden Restaurant, Edmunds Bar-B-Que, Harbor Inn Seafood, Jay's 411 Supper Club, La Cabana Mexican Restaurant, New China Buffet, Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, Pad Thai Thai Restaurant, and Saints at the Sheraton. I'm looking for Tiger to have a breakout performance after only a couple tournaments since knee surgery.
