It’s the Final Countdown!
Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, Feb. 7th, 2010
"Whenever people ask you where you’re from and you say New Orleans, it’s always going to create a conversation."
–P.Manning
Two weeks left until the NFL crowns either the Indianapolis Colts or the New Orleans Saints with the title of best professional football team this season. With these two teams competing, this year’s Super Bowl promises to be action-packed with offense, offense, and more offense. This is the first time since 1993 (when the Dallas Cowboys took on the Buffalo Bills) that two No. 1 seeds will meet in the Super Bowl. Not only has it been proven that it is hard for No. 1s to make it to the Super Bowl, but a sub-curse is that it’s even harder to win. On Sunday, February 7th, two No. 1 seeds will battle it out for the right to call themselves champions. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the battle, the clash, and the action; get your discount Super Bowl tickets here! THE CLASH
One of the more popular matchups is obviously between the quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. There will be statistical comparisons on everything from passing yards to shoe sizes, but let’s take a look at the history of these two teams matching up. When analyzing their history, the flavor vanilla comes to mind. They have only met 10 times since 1967 and the series is tied up 5-5. Most recently, the Colts have won (2003 and 2007) and before that, the Saints were on a five-game winning streak. Mr. Manning has a 2-2 record against the Saints, but Mr. Brees has only faced the Colts once. This Super Bowl matchup will end the tied series once again.
Let’s highlight the quarterbacks since they do play a small part in the overall performance of the team. Who am I kidding; they are a huge part of the game! Peyton Manning and Drew Brees will be in the spotlight during the days leading up to the Super Bowl. They have participated in countless press conferences and sideline interviews; here are some of their legendary quotations: the inspirational, the motivational, and the hysterical.
If people think I’m a laid-back guy, that’s their mistake.

It's my job to get us in good plays, or more importantly, out of bad plays.
–D.Brees
It’s kind of boring to me if teams never throw the ball.
–P.Manning
It's about time something good like this happened.
–D.Brees
I don't get into monkeys and vindication. I don't play that card.
–P.Manning
There are a lot of reasons to be motivated.
–D.Brees
Boy, do I hate to lose.
–P.Manning
At the start of the season, our goal was to win a championship. We were expecting to be in the playoffs, so that wasn't even a goal.
–D.Brees
I’m a serious person by nature, sometimes too serious.
–P.Manning
I'm not going to comment on anything until they do.
–D.Brees
I’m proud to be Archie’s son. Being a quarterback, I had my mentor and hero living in the same house.
–P.Manning
The more time we have together the more you get that ESP deal going.
–D.Brees
