Eli Manning:Time to End the Debate; Eli Is Elite

Entering his seventh season with the New York Giants it is time to declare that yes, Eli Manning is one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks. Perhaps no other quarterback in the NFL has inspired such a plethora of diversified opinions over the last seven years. While some fans and analysts have believed him to be an excellent player in his own right, others maintain that he is average at best. Those contradicting opinions have not changed over the years as many people seem to cling to their original impressions. Well, I am here to say that it is time to put that argument to rest; Eli Manning is an elite quarterback. Now, my definition of an elite quarterback might differ from that of some people; I don’t care about fantasy football... It’s that time again kids. It’s that time to look at the "top 10 things we learned about baseball" series. For those of you not familiar with this series, this is where I piece together the month that was in Major League Baseball.Without any further ado, here at the top 10 things we learned about baseball in April.10. The Baltimore Orioles Had a Bad Month I really liked what the Orioles did this offseason, but the moves they made this winter clearly have not translated into success in 2010. The Orioles finished the month of April with the worst record in baseball.Closer Mike Gonzalez and 1B/3B Garrett Atkins have been terrible and this team desperately misses Brian Roberts at the top of the lineup. While the Orioles had the worst record in baseball in April…9... Sharks Could Be In Trouble

It’s a miracle! The San Jose Sharks made it out of the first round alive. The first three games of the first round series saw the Colorado Avalanche grab a 2-1 series lead and it appeared as if the Sharks were going to fall apart in the first round yet again—but San Jose was saved…by Ryane Clowe and Joe Pavelski? While Clowe and Pavelski both had fantastic season with the Sharks, nobody expected them to be the saviors in San Jose. Clowe led the team with seven assists in the first round and Pavelski had five goals, including two game-winners.“He has the ability to do it, and he has a real good drive and the will to do it,” San Jose head coach Todd McLellan told the Silicon Valley Mercury News of Pavelski... Sorry Chicago, LeBron James Is Just That Good

Date: Monday, April 26, 2010 Comments (0) Permalink
It was cute when the Chicago Bulls played the most competitive first-round playoff series last season against the reigning-champion Boston Celtics. It was heart-warming to see the team fight hard to make a run and grab the final playoff spot this season. And it was even nice seeing them win a home game against the top-seeded Cavaliers Thursday night. But Sunday came and awoke the Bulls from dreamland, bringing them back to the reality that is LeBron James, or more suitably, the King. Whether it was grabbing boards, dishing dimes, or knocking down half-courters, James once again proved why he's one of the best players in the NBA and the leading MVP candidate this season... Dear New York, LeBron Doesn't Want You

Condescending New Yorkers can laugh all they want about how bad a city Cleveland is. I'm a proud Clevelander who's been living in the Big Apple for four years now, and it's been pretty entertaining watching the arrogance. Sure, the "Mistake On The Lake" even sets rivers afire, but equally embarrassing are New York and its assumptions rooted in an ugly habit of self-absorption. If this was the 1980s, certainly LeBron James would want out of Cleveland in favor of New York, probably even in favor of New Mexico. But it hasn't been the 1980s for a long time. Tired of being the butt of late-night jokes, Cleveland turned itself around and enjoyed a prosperous decade in the 1990s. That mini-renaissance, however, began so long ago that the city has returned to being miserable again... Read More...
